SUSTAINABILITY
Our model of production and energy consumption involves sharing, re-use and recycling.
The process is based on the use of natural tannins coming from trees, on new technologies and the slow passing of time. Tannin makes tanned leather unique and immediately recognizable. The colors obtained by the use of these natural techniques are warm and continuously changing. Vegetable tanning comes from Nature, and it returns to Nature harmoniously. Vegetable tanned leather does not contain any harmful toxic substances to humans or to the environment and it can be worn by people allergic to heavy metals.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Our model of production and energy consumption involves sharing, repairing, reconditioning and recycling materials and existing products as much as possible. In this way Derricks Firenze can extend the life of the products and also reduce the waste to the minimum.
Derricks Firenze embraces these principles:
- Our leathers come from animals intended for the food market; no animals are killed “just” for their leather.
- The hairs removed from the raw skin are transformed in fertilizers for agricolture.
- The sludge deposits coming from the purifiers are used as bricks in the construction industry.
